Plastic Barricades are an alternative rock band from London. The band consists of Dan Kert on guitar, keyboards and vocals, Daniele Borgato on bass guitar and Frazer James Webster on drums. Since forming in 2007 interest in the band has just gone from strength to strength, earning themselves scores of nominations and hundreds of new fans. “Mechanics of life” is the band latest release (September 15th).
The album kicks off with fan favourite “How Goldfish Grow” before kicking into “Singularity 2045”. “Our Favourite Delusions” has a good build-up, while things get political on the slower “Be the change”. Other stand out tracks include, the slowed down “Shine” and then “Half of your soul”, which goes back to the more upbeat sound. “Medicine Man” is perhaps the heaviest track on the album. The album finishes off with the incredible “Masterminds”.
Mechanics of Life is 11 tracks full of brit-pop style tunes. It is one catchy as hell album butalso an album you can easily chill out to. Full of melodically haunting vocals and guitars to match, Plastic Barricades are a breath of fresh air in an otherwise boring British music scene.
